Mention Mount Gretna, PA to any local resident of Lebanon County and fond memories of summers past spring to mind: ice cream and frosty mugs of root beer at the Jigger Shop, rounds of mini-golf, canoeing on Mt. Gretna Lake, or simply soaking up the sun on the beach. You might even hear someone recall the tale of Charlton Heston, who once asked Mt. Originally founded as a summer camp, the tabernacle is still in place and remains the site of numerous summer activities. Geographically, Mount Gretna is divided into seven sections, is part of three local governing municipalities, and two school districts. Quite possibly, it is one the most unique places to live in all of Pennsylvania.

An idyllic place to reside, Mt. Gretna is also a summer hot spot for music, theatre, and the arts. Events such as the Mt. Gretna Tour of Homes, the Cicada Festival (a six night festival of popular music groups), and the Mt. Gretna Art Show have become summer staples Central Pennsylvanians look forward to all year. Mix in professional summer outdoor theatre, jazz and chamber concerts, lectures, book reviews and dinner/theatre opportunities, and you are hard pressed to find a summer evening when no other event is happening.

Mt. Gretna, PA is located in the South Mountains between Lebanon and Lancaster Counties and just minutes from the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
